Using the Computational Geometry Computational Resources

Here is the beginnings of a CGM Tips document.

Most of the CGM machines are running the Debian flavour of linux. You can browse the available software packages for the Debian machines using either doc-central, or dhelp.

In theory, each software package is available on each linux machine. If you find otherwise, just drop a note to cgm-help.

Email

Your email address is username@cgm.cs.mcgill.ca. Do not omit cgm!

Email can be read using mutt or pine without any special setup.

The machine cgm.cs.mcgill.ca operates both outgoing (SMTP) and incoming (IMAP and POP) servers. Note, however, that this machine is not reachable from outside of computer science.

Printing

We currently have two printers in the CGM lab (Room 311): sake and chroma.
