Michel Balliet, born in the Ivory Coast is a singer, and in addition to percussion, he plays the base and drum set. He has performed with several groups in the Ivory Coast, most notably Zeple Jazz and Grand Columbia. Since his arrival in Quebec in 1996 he has collaborated with several World Beat groups including Zekhul, Zitaninel and Asikajua Kofi.
