Bernard Désormeau is one of the founders of the group Yoro Sou. Born in Montreal, he began his musical career with the snare drum and bugle. He then concentrated his studies on the drum set with Paul Chalifoux and Guy Nadon before discovering African percussion and immersing himself in the djembe. He perfected his djembe drumming technique under the tutelage of Dominic Donkor and Karim Diouf. He left Yoro Sou in 2000.
